How much maintenance does the system need?

Very little — provided you give the system the right service. What exactly does periodic maintenance involve?

Once a year suffices

For a standard rainwater system (toilet + washing machine + garden), one maintenance visit per year suffices. During that visit: clean or replace the pre-filter, check the pump and pressure vessel, inspect the tank for sludge or algae, and briefly test the system. Count on about an hour of work.

Drinking-water systems: a bit more attention

Drinking-water systems require a bit more: checking the UV lamp twice a year (it must be replaced every 9,000 hours), weekly flushing of the carbon filter, and an annual water-quality test in a lab. But it is not daily work — everything runs automatically.

Do it yourself or have it done

Some maintenance steps (flushing the pre-filter, inspecting the tank lid) you can do yourself. Pump checks, filter replacement and water-quality tests require technical work. We offer both individual service visits and annual contracts.
