From rainwater to drinking water
A holiday home on a wooded plot in Brabant, with no possibility of a mains water connection. Caroline wanted a truly off-the-grid life: self-sufficient in water and electricity. The question was clear but challenging — can we purify the rainwater that falls on the roof well enough to drink it too?
We realised the complete rainwater harvesting system, with an underground tank. The pre-filtering captures coarse dirt. The water then passes through multiple filter stages: sediment filter, activated carbon and UV sterilisation up to drinking-water quality.
The result: clear, clean water that meets the drinking-water requirements. Caroline is now fully self-sufficient in water — no connection to the mains water network needed anymore.
